Microsoft Lync is the new rich client for Lync users on the Mac platform and offers integrated functionality for instant messaging, presence, conferencing and voice. Lync for Mac is designed to work with both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Online to help you. Also, I know this works with MAC and Lync, as we have a MAC Mini that does not have a FaceTime camera, and it works without issue on that machine with all the same versions of the OS/Lync software. Symptoms
Assume that you configure the sign-in method of Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 to automatic or manual. When you sign in to Lync for Mac 2011, you receive an error message that states the user credentials are incorrect.
If you change the sign-in method to alternative, you will finish the sign-in process. However, after you sign in, Lync for Mac 2011 will freeze for about 25 seconds, and will then sign out. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
